Ummm...? Oshkosh 8/14/17

Dear all,

Not exactly sure what happened this week...it kinda just happened. Highlight though was exchanges with our sister training leaders! I got to be with my MTC comp! It was SO fun and much needed. :) Between stopping by a recent convert with MS, our dinner appointment with an AWESOME member (she's a recent convert of about 2 years) and has a daughter named Lydia!, and street contacting we didn't get much time to catch up! But cool story of the week:

Sister Koford and I thought we'd go street contacting down town in Oshkosh. After driving around for a little I pulled up on the side of the road at some shop. We got out and sister Koford immediately starts talking to this lady outside of the tattoo place. Turns out she is a member! She has 2 teenage daughters and has fallen aways. But she realized the craziness (there are no coincidences, right?) of her happening to be outside just when we pulled up. How awesome it that?! We also found this super awesome lady with the cutest 4 year old daughter who is interested in checking out our church!

Miracles happen on exchanges. :)

Oh, we had a lesson with this old man from Iran. He kept talking to us about how much he LOVES America and is interested in Mormons because of Mitt Romney. Haha, it was an interesting lesson...we didn't get to talk much in between all that haha.

I love how even though we do our best to plan our days, it never EVER seems to go the way we planned haha. Sunday we planned after church to visit some people in Omro and go tracting up there. But we thought we'd contact a referral first and ended up spending our whole evening in that area instead! We found a less active family from Pakistan that we've been trying and TRYING to contact. So that was exciting. I guess the Lord really does guide us and show up where He wants us to be.

Oh, also on Sunday half the members were on vacation or something...only about 50 people were there! Including all the kids! Haha, love the ward. Our stake president has promised our stake that there are 10s of thousands who are searching for the truth and aren't brought into the fold merely because they don't know where it is. If we adhere to the truths found in these scriptures then the missionary effort will go forth: Matthew 22:34-40 and Alma 26:21-22 (I forgot the second one...).

Hope you all have a wonderful week!
Sister Brianna Johns
